چکیده
Introduction: The facial appearance depends on several oral and extraoral factors including colour of skin pigmentation gingival epithelium. the gingiva varies among individuals is thought to be associated with cutaneous which ranges from light dark brown or black colour.
Objective: To assess prevalence physiological pigmentation, biotype their association colur in Nepalese subjects visiting Kantipur Dental College Hospital (KDCH).
Methods: This was an analytical cross-sectional study carried out February 2020 June all patients age-group 16 80 years Department Periodontics at KDCH after ethical approval. Patients were recruited by convenience sampling examined thoroughly find extent intraorally as well extraorally.
 Results: In this study, 210 which, 105 (50%) males females. Out 210, 33 (15.7%) had pink tissue without 84 (40%) only attached gingiva, 58 (27.6%) interdental papilla, 32 (15.2%) diffuse involving parts 2 (1%) marginal only, 1 (0.5%) papilla.
Conclusion: A strong found between present (P <0.001). Establishing pattern population will help choose a specific depigmentation therapy that harmonise colour.
